Here We Go!

March 9, 2009

Well I’m away from Los Angeles up in chilly Oakland for the Disney Annual Meeting. The project I’ve been working on for over a year is launching tomorrow. It seems like it has been forever getting to this day but now it’s finally here. Right now I’m watching a runthrough of the presentation and I got a little misty.

The meeting is in an old theater called the Paramount. It’s freezing (okay, like 50 degrees) in here and the bathroom has that weird granular soap like they had in elementary school. I found this sign in the bathroom really funny.

Burger Invasion

March 2, 2009

Sitting here at the bus stop where my bus has just pulled away earlier than scheduled. Traffic ebbing and flowing in front of me as the traffic lights change. Cars routinely stopping.

Well, some idiot decided to throw his or her (I’m guessing his) HAMBURGER out of his window at me. It landed between my feet, sliding under the bench and leaving a ketchup skidmark on the sidewalk.

WTF???

I thought something fell from the tree above me, only to look down and notice that I’m surrounded by pieces of meat, bun, onion and pickle.

I’m a little saddened that I was almost struck by my namesake.

Oh well… The trials and tribulations of a public transit commuter.

Our 3rd Anniversary

March 1, 2009

Today was our third anniversary and coincidentally (seriously!) I launched our Web site on the same day. I had been trying to get it launched for awhile but I was debating between TypePad and WordPress. It really kills me that I can’t customize the design that much, but I digress.

For our anniversary we went down to Anaheim to meet our friend Jonathan for lunch at The Cheesecake Factory. After stuffing ourselves we headed to Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach. Neither of us had been there before. Aside from the 10 billion people in attendance, it was really fun. The aquarium is really nice. Hopefully we can go back when it’s a little less crowded. When we left we headed down the boardwalk and over to the lighthouse that overlooks the Queen Mary and a Hotel del Coronado knockoff.

Hotel del Coronado knockoff.

I can’t believe it’s been three years. The time really flies!
