I <3 Kyoto

April 24, 2009

We’ve been walking around Kyoto all day since we got into town on the bullet train. We just got back to the hotel and I can officially can say that my feet are going to fall off by the end of this trip!

First thing we did today was head to the Cherry Blossom Festival, featuring a stage show of the Geisha which was really neat to see. It runs the month of April. Unfortunately the cherry blossoms bloomed early this year, but we are going to try and find some tomorrow.

After the Festival we walked around the city and into some parks. We walked around the city a bit more. I had no idea Kyoto was such a busy place. I was happy to find a Starbucks and yes, it tastes just as good here as it does back home.

That’s it for now. Photos below!

What time is it?

Off to Kyoto

April 23, 2009

I’ve now written two very long posts that have not saved so i’ll make this short: We’re on a bullet train to Kyoto.

More later!

Tired!

April 23, 2009

Completely exhausted from a very long day. We just had a drink at Bella Vista, a bar that overlooks DisneySea and now we’re about to get some rest. We have to be up at 6 and we’re heading to Kyoto for two days.

More to post tomorrow. Sleep now!

Tokyo DisneySea, pt. 2

April 22, 2009

Hello!

This morning Tim and I headed over to Tokyo Disneyland for a last visit. We went on the train, had some Mickey waffels and then went on Autopia. We came back to DisneySea and met up with Tim’s boss, Don, for lunch. Now we’re off to play some more. A bunch of photos are below. I’ll try to caption later… DisneySea is beautiful!

Tokyo Disneyland, pt. 2

So very tired! We just got in from Tokyo Disneyland. I am exhausted! We’re going to bed after having a snack.

Below is a picture of the first ‘mess’ that I found. Note how tidy it is. :)

Tokyo Disneyland, pt 1

April 21, 2009

We’re at Disneyland right now. We lined up at park opening with all the locals. They go NUTS when the park opens and run — stampede? — to their first destination, but of course it’s in the most polite way.

We rode the new Monsters, Inc. ride in the morning, Monsters, Inc. Ride and Go Seek! It was really cute and well done. Then we went over to Mickey Mouse Review… This attraction was from the 70s and was a total trip. It’s basically an Anamatronic show of Disney characters performing different musical sequences.

After that was lunch and then Pooh’s Honey Hunt which is simply amazing. The ride is beautiful and fun and technologically beyond what I thought possible. Really good fun and puts that two Pooh rides in the states to shame.

More later! Off to do more fun things. :)
